Porous PTFE membrane discs can be directly welded onto a cap or container to provide a breathable barrier that allows airflow in both directions while preventing contamination and leakage. PTFE membrane discs are available in various diameters, depending on the design and airflow requirements. Porous PTFE membrane discs should be considered when a standard moulded vented component (such as a vented inner plug, vented push-fit plug, or vented wad) cannot be integrated into the packaging design.
